Technology
Water in Salt is our answer to the growing demand for efficient and safe solutions in stationary energy storage. It is a redox flow battery that utilizes affordable and readily available components. Unlike traditional flow batteries, our Water in Salt flow battery has a single electrolyte and does not require a membrane separator, resulting in increased electrochemical efficiency and significant cost reduction.

Charging
During battery charging, zinc dissolved in the aqueous electrolyte is reduced into a metallic form at the zinc anode. Simultaneously, on the carbon electrode, a oxidation reaction occurs, resulting in the formation of a metal oxide that fills the carbon structure of the battery.
Discharging
During battery discharge, the reverse reaction takes place. The metal oxide and the zinc dissolves in water, releasing the stored electrical energy from the battery.
